What are Dental Sealants?
It is very common for many people, especially children, to have difficulty brushing their teeth properly. It can be hard to know whether the rear molars are being cleaned properly. If you or a loved one struggles with brushing and flossing properly, dental sealants may be the perfect solution to prevent tooth decay from developing in your rear molars. A dental sealant is a clear coating that we brush on the chewing surface of the teeth. Once it hardens, it creates a protective covering, leaving a smooth surface on top and making it easy to clean properly because food can no longer get trapped in the deep grooves.

Dental sealants are an extremely easy treatment that only takes a few minutes to apply. Sealants are ideal for children because they do not need to sit still for very long for the treatment to be effective. We provide dental sealants for adults and children, but they are more popular with our pediatric patients. It is important that you follow the treatment instructions to ensure the sealants remain on the teeth. Afterward, we recommend avoiding sticky foods, such as gummy treats.
